(More customer reviews)i bought this product hoping that it would make it easier to get into the bed of my truck. it works great.
installation only took me @ 20 minutes. the unit is sturdy and made of lightweight aluminum. it has rubber coated steel cables. it sits flat against the tailgate - the handrail doesn't fold down but doesn't obstruct closing of the tailgate. it stows away quickly and is secured with a small bungee cable.
the only downside - 1/2 point drop - is that you need to get a piece of rubber or some kind of sound deadening material to stick in between the folded sections to keep a very slight rattling down.
one more thing to add - i replaced the steel screws, nuts, bolts and washers with stainless steel ones to keep from rusting.
i give the truck - n - buddy 4.5 stars. excellent product i highly recommend
