(More customer reviews)I first saw these Table-Mate TV trays advertised on television. I thought they were pretty good, despite the ridiculous commercials typical for most "as seen on TV" products. I liked the idea of being able to sit back in my chair or on the couch to eat, which is not possible with the typical scissor-leg TV trays. I purchased this set from Amazon.com and have been using them for about a week. I can't say that these are a "must have", but I would definitely recommend them over typical TV trays.
The legs slide under my couch and my recliner pretty easily. The adjustable height and angle of the tray help you get comfortable, but I definitely cannot just lounge on my couch (as the commercials imply). The optimal height and angle for my sofa is still too high for me to sit back completely comfortably. However, it is still an improvement over typical TV trays.
They seem to be pretty sturdy and durable, but I haven't tried to sit a 5-gallon water jug on them like in the commercial (because I don't have one). However, I feel comfortable putting a large plate of food or my laptop on one of them.
I like the storage rack. We are able to fold up the trays when we are not using them, and store them out of the way. My only true complaint, though, is that it is not quick and easy to set up the trays or break them down. The locking pins can be tough to push in, and you have to set up each leg and the tray in separate steps (and do the reverse to put them away). This is much more complicated than the traditional TV trays, and can be frustrating if you need to open all four trays and then put them all away.
Finally, keep in mind that the trays and storage rack come disassembled. It probably said this somewhere in the description before I bought it, but I was surprised nonetheless. It was not a big deal, but you do need some basic assembly skills to put them together. Though, for comparison, it was probably less complicated than some of the kids toys out these days. Only the storage rack requires tools, which are provided, but you would be better off getting out your own screwdriver and wrench (if you have them) than trying to use the combo tool provided.

Ideal for families who live in small spaces or as extra kids tables for the holidays, this four-pack of Table-Mate II folding tables creates a quartet of flat surfaces for virtually any activity. You can use the tables for eating in front of the TV as a family, doing group craft activities, or even for an impromptu group art lesson. Each Table-Mate II assembles easily out of the box, with no tools or fasteners required. More importantly, the tables are a breeze to use when fully assembled. Simply slide the table surfaces to the horizontal position and they're ready for action. When you're finished, you can then fold them back down and hang them on the handy storage stand (included) or place them under a sofa. You can even stack several Table-Mate IIs next to each other in a semi-folded position, where they're easily accessible to people who are recovering from injury or who suffer from mobility problems. Each table measures 21.5 by 15.5 inches (W x L) across the top and holds up to 50 pounds. They also offer six adjustable heights (from 21 to 28.5 inches) and four adjustable angles: one horizontal, two slightly downward angles, and one upward angle.
