I screwed them into a 2x4 to put in the bed of my pickup truck and they work just great. I was surprised at the workmanship quality of this sturdy fork mount. Highly recommend the product.

Pro-Series HTCARG 500 lb Cargo Truck Rack Review

Malone AutoLoader XV J-Style Universal Car Rack Kayak Carrier with Bow and Stern Lines Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the kayak carrier with the intention of using it on my wife's matrix. We have the Thule aftermarket rack (the factory roof rails start too far back on the roof to be of any use) and when I put the carriers on the load bars the one on the front bar was tilted forward and the one on the back bar was tilted back. This was due the fact the the thule bars were not level, a fault of the thule design. There is no adjustment on the carriers to correct for this. I ended up using the carriers on my Mazda 3 which also has an aftermarket thule rack. This time the bars were level and the carriers both were level. No problem putting the kayak on and securing it.
I would recommend this product, just make sure your load bars are level, not a problem for yakima racks.

Yakima BigHorn 4 Bike Rack Review

(More customer reviews)We ride bikes several times per week. I say we meaning my me and my kids. So I carry 2-3 bikes on this several times per week. There are problems with heavy use. First of all, the pin that lets the rack fold down is 3/8 inch. Mine actually bent from running on the highway with 2-3 bikes. I drilled it out and put a 1/2 pin. Also, I didn't trust the threaded hitch pin that comes with the rack, it is also 3/8 inch and all that force is on the threads. If they break, by by rack. So I drilled it out to 1/2, used a regular class 2 1/2 pin and a product called a hich vise. $35 for the hitch vise, but the system works much better and is more stable. Finally, the sytem holds the bikes with flexible plastic pieces which slide on 1 1/4" metal poles. They hold the bikes well, but they also slide on the poles resulting in bikes ending up touching and rubbing paint off each other. Since I have no idea how anyone could fit four bikes on this rack, I went with mounts for three. You can remove a screw on the end of each pole, take the end cap off and slide off or on the pieces that hold the bikes on. I took one set off and then cut 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe to keep the other three sets equal distance from each other. This is dirt cheap and works extremely well, the bikes stay put on the poles and don't touch each other. Lots of modifications for this rack but it works well now. I think I would buy a more expensive one in the future but there aren't many choices if you need 1 1/4 and all I have ia a class 2 hitch so I can't use a 2 inch hitch.

Softride 26321 Acess Dura Assist 4 Bike Rack Review

(More customer reviews)I just received this rack, unpacked it and assembled. The assembly was easy requiring only 4 bolts. I mounted the rack on the car's 2 inch receiver hitch using 1 additional bolt supplied with the rack. This bolt takes all of the slop out from between the rack and the car. The assembly is rock solid on the car and does not vibrate around like many other racks. The rack and car act as one unit and this keeps the motion of the rack and bikes to a minimum. The rack tips back and my van's back door opens with lots of extra space. I mounted 3 bikes and all fit well from a 48cm to a 61cm. The assist part works well and the weight of 3 carbon road bikes holds it in the down position and it is easy to lift up. There is a feature to disable the assist when no bikes are on the rack. This allows the bike rack to be in the down position with no weight on the rack. All in all this is a well engineered rack that is well built and very strong. I will be adding some lube at the main hinge points as it is a bit stiff right out of the box but I am sure it will remain solid for years to come.

Thule 599XTR Big Mouth Upright Rooftop Bicycle Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)This bike rack works well once it is mounted. The description of the item did not mention that it needed to be mounted on the Thule roof rack adapter. I ordered only the bike rack. I hoped that the rack would mount directly to my Toyota Rav4's factory roof rack. I've since been looking at other factory roof racks, and have noticed that most of them have airplane wing-like bars which go from side to side. These bars are about three inches in width, and the hardware on the Big Mouth Bike Rack is set up to fit the Thule adapter, which has bars little more than an inch in width. Instead of ordering the adapter, I spent a day tooling my own mounting hardware. This gives the bike rack a much cleaner look, and sets the rack and bike closer to the roof, making it easier to load and unload. The second problem is that the end caps come off much too easily. Other than these problems, the rack works well, and is easy to load and unload.

This product meets and exceeds those requirements. This is the best alternative to a hitch mount. We purchased this rack for my wife's 2006 Ford Freestyle and have not been disappointed.
