(More customer reviews)I was very happy to select this trunk organizer. I will be honest I had not heard of the company, Thule, before. Since then I see they are a very popular company from ski racks to bike racks. Upon receiving the item I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of it. It is very well made and stitched perfectly. As another reviewer noted, I too had problems getting the bag to stay open. It does take some strength and being pregnant I don't think I had much to give. I set it down on a table though and pushed each end until it was nicely tucked under the tabs on the side. Now that it is in the `locked' position it is very sturdy! I know you can collapse it if need be but I like having it ready to go.
Since having it I placed it in the trunk of my 2008 Mazda 3. The tote is generously sized and it fit well in my compact car trunk. I have a moving blanket covering my trunk and was surprised that the non slip material under the tote worked on the blanket. Wherever I placed the tote, empty or full, it was in the same location after each trip I made. I made two trips to the grocery store with it and each time filled the tote with the heavier items at the bottom and items such as bread on the top. It was nice to know my groceries were not flying around my trunk and that my bread was not getting smashed in the process. I always placed my frozen foods in freezer bags I leave in the trunk. When I came home from each grocery trip I was able to carry the full tote in with the sturdy handles that are on the side. It usually takes me two trips to do so but this made it with one trip. I also was able to bring in my freezer bag and unload it as well. Afterwards I would place the empty freezer bag back in the empty tote and take it out to the car next time I was to leave for the next time I needed it.
So far I have found the organizer to be very handy. I am expecting a child in a few months and know I will need the extra space to keep things separate. However, right now as a single person running errands and grocery shopping this tote has proven to be a big help. It is something I will use several times a week and the quality is top line. I did not have high expectations for it but now that I have used it so many times and the fact that is stays in place, even on longer drives, it is a winner in my book. I am very happy with the trunk organizer and highly recommend it.
