Fortunately everything was as it was wrapped twice in a foam blanket. Piecing it together was a snap, installation was another thing.This may not apply to you but IF you have a truck box your in for a real treat. Prepare your self for some lengthy drilling, the base plates are a low grade steel that eases this task slightly. Apart from that it only cuts the useable area of your bed roughly 2-2 1/2 inches, if you have a truck box it WILL fit between the support brackets on the rack. The amount of visibility you lose is insignificant and the slats help keep your trucks interior cool.
