(More customer reviews)Works great. I usually put it directly on the roof top without using the metal rails. However it presses the roof down if you tighten it too much. However my kayak is light and the SUV roof seems to be strong enough. You could install it on the metal rail using the grove but I did not try it since the shape of the grove looked different from my SUV rail.
