Do not buy one of these, find another manufacturer.
My 2006 F150 had a lot of play on the driver's side of the steering rack, causing the toe to change over bumps and rough surfaces, knocking noises and causing the steering wheel to jerk around when hitting bumps. Driving off pavement was miserable. I had a re-manufactured steering rack from A1 Cardone installed, as well as brand new upper control arms with ball joints, lower ball joints, outer tie-rod ends and sway bar end links just to freshen everything up.
The re-manufactured steering rack felt like it may have slight play in the same spot when I opened the box, but it was hard to confirm off the truck so I installed it and hoped for the best. The truck felt slightly better, but the problem still persists. After a month and a half, this rack is in worse shape than the factory part that had 60k miles on it. The truck is absolutely miserable to drive right now. I raised the front end off the ground today and confirmed that the play is coming from the exact same spot in the steering rack. CLEARLY they are not replacing worn out functioning parts, and must only be replacing seals, tie-rod ends, boots and spraying them with new paint.
They are sending another re-manufactured part but I can only imagine I'm going to be in the same situation with it, and out the costs for ANOTHER installation.
