(More customer reviews)I had bought a Sears socket tool set. It came with hundreds of sockets of various sizes but no case to organize them into. So I needed socket holders. I was originally going to buy the Sears socket holders but they sell 1 holder for about $10 dollars. Which is a rip-off compared to these Tekton sets since you get three holders for half the price of 1 holder at Sears. Another thing about the Sears holders are that they come with a handle on one end. I definitely did not need the handle since I wanted to fit them into my compact tool box.
I've had past experience with some of the Sears socket holders. The socket clips eventually start losing their grip and fall off. Sears is supposedly known for higher grade quality so I figured that these cheaper priced Tekton holders would be even worse but I decided to try them anyways. I was glad I did. Upon inspection when I received them, they are better built than the Sears branded holders. The clips have a rounded bulge at the tip providing a stronger hold unlike the sears clips where they are rectangular in shape. If a Sears clip is removed from its holder and the two clip ends are pressed together, the clip will no longer hold a socket and basically be ruined unless its bent back but even then it will never be the same. This doesn't happen to the Tekton clips because the grip is all in the rounded bulge and not relied upon the expanded open ended side of the clips.
These clips hold great for the smaller type sockets 1/4", 3/8" and even deep sockets. It's a different story for the 1/2 inch sockets. They hold quite well for regular 1/2" sockets but the deep sockets can fall off easily. Not so bad that a little care when holding prevents this unless you put heavy impact type deep sockets. Which honestly, you shouldn't be doing anyways. It's probably possible that these clips will also wear out over time but seems less likely due to their construction. Only time will tell.
Other than that, these are great socket holders for the price and quantity. You get plenty of clips, 16 per holder which is enough to hold a whole row of just about any size sockets. Plus they are sturdy enough to mount to a wall. I just wouldn't mount the 1/2 inch deep sockets to a wall. Everything else should be okay. I would easily recommend these socket holders.
I will try to add some of my own pictures of my toolbox set up.
