Honda Surfboard Attachment 2002 - 2011 Review

Honda Surfboard Attachment 2002 - 2011
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've owned this rack for a few years now, in addition to other surf racks for my other cars and this one is my least favorite.
Pros:
1. Securely holds one longboard (mine is 9') with two fabric straps.
2. Pretty easy to install with the OEM honda crossbars (will not work with any other brand). Took around 10 minutes.Cons:
1. Straps are so short that you can only hold one longboard. When I try to carry two longboards, I need to use my own straps.
I would recommend the Shockles ShockStrap [...]
2. The rack attachment is a "cradle" so must be readjusted for the width of any new board that you put on it. As is, I need to adjust if for when I bring my shortboard or funboard instead of my longboard. This is time consuming and needs tools.
3. You need to buy another set if you want to carry two boards side by side.
4. There is no padding on the straps which could dent your board if you cinch it tight.
BOTTOM LINE:
Decent rack if you only carry one longboard or two shortboards.
I would recommend you skip this rack and buy a few rack pads for the honda crossbars and get some aftermarket straps to tie down your boards. That way you have the flexibility to carry more boards of any size you want.

Compact yes, complex very. Too much hassle going back and forth on both sides of the car to adjust. Setting up the straps in preparation to recieve the boards very complex and then you have to out a twist in the strap to reduce wind vibration.

FCS Premium DOUBLE SOFT Surfboard Car Racks Review

FCS Premium DOUBLE SOFT Surfboard Car Racks
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I admit I bought one of these because it came in a good bag. But that was it. First, it took me more than a half hour just to figure out how to tie the straps. The D-rings connectors and instructions were a little confusing. When I finally tightened it on my car and put my boards in it, it just never really tightened down. There's a long bumpy road to my break...and the straps over the boards kept getting loose from the road vibration. Also, the front rack lifted in the wind and the back rack dented the roof of my car. I ended up tossing the rack in the back of my garage...but the bag it came in is great for keeping wax and other stuff.

Ocean & Earth RAP RAX Surfboard Carrying Rack Review

Ocean and Earth RAP RAX Surfboard Carrying Rack
Average Reviews:

The product is an incredible tool, but has a major flaw. When you travel more than 90km / h is impossible to prevent the strings vibrate in the wind, producing an unpleasant noise.
It may be because you have to put a lot of strength to make it tight, but this is not recommended, because there are roofs of cars that are very soft and can dent.
If anyone knows of any solution to this, please share it.
So far I have tested on two cars in different position constraint and degree of adjustment and the sound has been impossible to remove completely.

Thule Hang Two Surf Carrier Review

Thule Hang Two Surf Carrier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Was excited to get this as my crossbars are very close together and lateral stability was key. My board is 11'3" L 29.5" W and over 4" thick. Had everything set up all nice and neat until I tried to get the straps on. Except they are too short to hook on for my board. Don't see how any stand up board or thicker and wider board would fit with the included straps so I was back to standard compression straps. So much for the quick convenience. But the captures are nice and work well. So hopefully Thule will send me some longer straps when they wise up and make them bigger. I did call to complain. If your dimensions are smaller than mine (29.5" w and about 4.5" thick) then you'll be fine. The straps were short by about 2+ inches at their longest.

Carver Surf Rack - Max Review

Carver Surf Rack - Max

My wife ordered this for me for our anniversary and it works perfect. I just strap my board on and go. Assembly was pretty easy and it worked well with my beach cruiser. She looked at local surf shops and amazon had the best deal, including shpping. Anyone who surfs should be stoked with this product! We would definitely purchase these again for anyone looking to cruise to the beach on their bike and not have to stress with parking your car, paying to get on the beach, etc. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

Inno Universal Mount Locking Kayak, Canoe, and Surfboard Rack for Truck or SUV Review

Inno Universal Mount Locking Kayak, Canoe, and Surfboard Rack for Truck or SUV
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a Yakamia rack and place surfboards on it was never a problem, now owning two 12' SUP's I wished there was a rack that had a locking system. I went to REI and this guy came up to me and told me to look into this INNO 444 system, he said everyone in Hawaii has these Universal locking mounts for your racks and your boards won't get stolen. I looked into this and spoke to the techs of INNO. I will tell you, they have made the easist system. This crane system with a turn of a knob tightens down the cable which is AWESOME!!! We go and paddle and leave our boards on my truck with NO worries, stay over night and just keep them locked up. Thanks INNO for making our sport that much more enjoyable with no worries.

Inno Universal Mount Locking Surfboard Rack for Car, Truck, or SUV Review

Inno Universal Mount Locking Surfboard Rack for Car, Truck, or SUV

Just got the INNo INA744 board locker. Looks well built I will update my review after i have used it. Wanted to let buyers know that to fit round bars you need to purchase adapter ISF715 sold separately. This is not clear in the description, and conveniently amazon doesn't carry it. also the nuts in the universal mounts are a nylon, I have had the Thule ones break on me, but not big deal can be replaced easily and cheaply. the inside width is 24 inches so if you are carring a large SUP board it might not fit you would need a pad or get the canoe Kayak carrier.

Block Surf Double Wrap Rack Review

Block Surf Double Wrap Rack
Average Reviews:

The surf rack is very easy to install. I am a beginner in the whole surfing thing and I'm starting off with a 8.5 foam-board. Last week I drove from SF valley to San Diego (150mi) and back doing 70-80mph with the board mounted and had absolutely no problems. I drive a TSX so it fit just fine. The only thing that you might wanna consider is that the racks wrap through the vehicle so it might inconvenience the back seat passengers.
I've never used any other surf-racks before so I can't really compare it with other products out there, but for the price this is very good buy.

Block Surf Single Wrap Surfboard Rack Review

I've driven probably 3,000 miles with these racks and two longboards on my car. It takes some practice to find the sweet spot for your board and your car, but once you've got the routine down, these racks are rock solid. Like the reviewer before me said, don't buy these if you've got an antenna in the middle of your roof or those seatbelts that automatically slide forward and backwards, like those that were made in the early '90s.
