(More customer reviews)As the other reviewer said: Buy two. The description indicates that this is for half a boat. Its done this way so you can use rollers on the back or another kind of saddle.
These are great saddles. The included felt allows the kayak to slide easily during loading and unloading. The included strap guides hold the strap in place beneath the boat to assist in placement. Once tightened, the a set of rubber guides are cinched against the boat to hold it firmly in place. The included straps have rubberized or plastic protectors to protect your car and kayak from scratches.
The con about the product is that the screws must be very tight on the round bars to ensure they do not rotate during loading or unloading.
All around it is an easy to use product that does the job well.

TracRac 25110 Crossbar Tiedowns Review

(More customer reviews)The Trac Rac system is a nice system and the tiedowns do their job quite well. I advise some method of locking them in place or remove them when you know you won't need them for a few days. They are a fairly easy and high theft item. They did not come directly from Amazon and the dealer in Florida sent the wrong items and caused a 3 week delay. Use caution when buying stuff that does not come directly from Amazon.

Thule Truck Rack Adapter Kit Review

(More customer reviews)This was the product I needed, and it works perfectly. My only complaint is why in the world should I have to buy an extra part that I could only find online. I will admit my choice of rack system was based only on looks. I got the higher end aero bars which are oval instead of square or round. When it was time to get a bike rack, I obviously picked the one that fit the look I had going, which also happened to be the higher end model, echelon. Come to find out, the expensive rack can't actually fit on the expensive bars without this kit. Come on Thule!

(More customer reviews)This Rack system is built with quality, very strong Die cast connections, and smooth finish. fairly easy to assemble ( must read directions) for first timers such as I . I found it frustrating when i could not find the Hex head bolts in the package, so i could not complete the assembly, and now it is sitting in the Garage, called the company and seems like they leave early on Fridays. I am just waiting to hear from them. Also it would be nice if they supplied a sturdy Allen wrench with the order, to assist with the assembly.

I have a Hobie Pro Angler kayak, which at a fully loaded weight of 138lb provides a unique set of loading challenges!! The Showboat provides the answer. Combining with the 78" bars, Mako Aero saddles and suitable technique, my yak loads easily and stays rock solid secure.

Go Rhino QR101 Quick Rack Review

(More customer reviews)Purchased a Go Rhino Quick Rack for my new 2010 Ford F150. Unfortunately, it does not fit on the side rails as advertised. The Quick Rack supports require more space under the truck side rails than is available. When installed, the supports are just touching and cannot be adequately secured. I was hoping to use the Quick Rack for transporting things like a canoe on long trips. The rack is suitable for very shorts trips and really does not work (afraid that it might come loose while in use. I was really looking forward to this temporary "on and off" solution but it just does not work, used it twice now but never again. I am looking for something to replace it that is a little more trustworthy. Too bad as it looks like a great idea but like many things, it is ultimately in the execution and this just does not make it. I would NOT recommend that anyone purchase a Quick Rack for a late model Ford F150, keep looking elsewhere!

Thule Step Up Wheel Step Review

(More customer reviews)This step is a great idea for those who put their skis/snowboards on the roof of the SUV. We used to stand on the tire itself or on the 2nd row seats but decided there had to be a better way. This step is easy to adjust and feels very stable. Now we don't have to do the gymnastics any more.
Now the bad news. We used it at the house to load up, at the slopes to unload and to reload and then at home again to unload. A weld on one of the buckles broke making the step unusable. The unit is riveted together so there is no way to replace just the broken part. Thule has a good warranty and Amazon has provided great support. Amazon is sending out a replacement. Hopefully the new one won't develop the same problem.

(More customer reviews)The Yakima heavy duty straps are the best tie down straps on the market. Simple to use and the buckle is protected with a rubber jacket. The rubber jacket protects your vehicles paint from chipping when you throw the buckle accross the top of the vehicle. Fasten and secure the strap with only one pull to lock the strap. To open just press the bar and the strap will release. I use these straps to hold down two extension ladders to the top of my truck rack. I love these straps. Been using these for years with no problems.

Yakima Bow/Stern Tie Down Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased these tie-down straps with a full rack and canoe kit. The tiedows were very pricey, but they claimed they cam with a protective tube over the ropes to prevent paint scratches.
Let me save you some trouble- Don't bother with these. Get some normal tie-down straps or even some good rope, and wrap them in a towel or cloth. The plastic rope covers scratched the paint on my car very badly, and didn't really offer any other benefit.
The one good feature about these straps is the ratcheting system- When you pull the rope tighter, a ratchet locks it into place until the ratchet lever is pulled. This isn't to say it replaces a good cargo strap, since the rope does tend to come loose, but with some good knot tying, you can get it pretty solid.
Overall, the product quality is as expected, but in the end it was a waste.
I rate things as follows:
1 star - Far below expectations / Completely unsatisfactory
2 star - Below expectations / Unsatisfactory
3 star - Met expectations / Satisfactory
4 star - Exceeded expectations / Very satisfactory
5 star - Far exceeded expectations / Beyond satisfactory

Thule Top Deck Review

Only concern is that the angle the pads face is fixed, if it was maybe slightly adjustable they would be perfect, while they do fit my kayak pretty well I could see where some kayaks would pose a problem and leave plenty of open space against the pads.

The bar that goes across the roof crossbar that gets screwed over it needs to be wider to go across wider crossracks, or somehow more convertible. When we tryed putting the kayaks on the racks they bent very easy also.
