NO drilling, just need WD40, a LONG socket wrench/breaker bar, and a bucket or a wife willing to help. Check out the online video's if you need help on understanding how to install this monster, remember 2004+ Durangos are all built the same underneath basically.
The construction of this bar is very solid and shiny. Seams it would take alot to beak the bar. The include bolts replace 4 of the 6 factory bolts used to attach the bar to the frame. I think these are where the problem would be if there ever was an issue. But after install it is very solid, of course this is only after i did the jump up & down test and there was no indication of movement.
This hitch is POSITIONED UNDER the bumper and not in the notch that is available, the other type of hitch that requires drilling/cutting and bumper removal to install fits there (much harder to install yourself). The look after completion is not bad, but it wasn't what i expected. But hey you have a trailer hitch now right?
Over all i am happy, it does the job, but what i don't like is the exhaust now blows into the hitch becuase it is under the bumper, so it affects the sound of my baby now... and of course i wish it had fit in the notch to make it look uniform. But i am willing to live with it for the price i paid. Contact me if you would like to see pics to help your buying decision.
