(More customer reviews)The Trac Rac system is a nice system and the tiedowns do their job quite well. I advise some method of locking them in place or remove them when you know you won't need them for a few days. They are a fairly easy and high theft item. They did not come directly from Amazon and the dealer in Florida sent the wrong items and caused a 3 week delay. Use caution when buying stuff that does not come directly from Amazon.

2008-2010 Subaru Tribeca Roof Rack Crossbars With Locks Review

(More customer reviews)This roof rack when mounted and tension set on the clamps, the plastic end cover cracked and broke off while another was cracked. The clamping device does not fit the countour of the vehicle top rails. The second fault was the unbearable resonance noise created when the vehicle was moving with no cargo load on the rack.. One would have to remove the rack each time it was not loaded to dampen the wind resonance.
This product was returned to the supplier for credit... which is pending.

Roof Rack Locking Cross Bars 2008 - 2010 Saturn Vue Review

(More customer reviews)If you are looking for a reasonably priced roof rack system, these will work. If you would rather spend more money on the actual trip than on your roof racks then these will fit the bill.
The fit and finish on this is less than stellar, and there is no mistaking them for the top of the line models. The locks are functional but when disengaged feel cheap and a couple of them actually pulled out of their housing (not a big deal, they slide right back in , but still.)
The other drawback is the instructions... or to be more precise... the lack of instructions makes this a tedious task to undertake for somebody that has never used a system like this before. But it is not rocket science, and any reasonably intelligent adult can figure it out... eventually.

Thule will not stand behind their products and let me return the kit. I have another Honda and the kit for that one fits great. So, try and find a review of the specific kit you want to buy before you buy it. Do NOT buy the 2171 kit expecting it to fit a 2006 Honda Civic. IT DOES NOT FIT.

Roof Rack Locking Cross Bars Jeep Liberty Review

(More customer reviews)I hadn't unlocked the bars for about 8 months and they had been exposed to very little moisture (southern NM). When I turned the lightweight aluminum key to unlock the bars it unexpectedly snapped off at the edge of the key hole. This made it nearly impossible to get the key out, and I only have one key. Although the rack and crossbars are still functional, it defeats the advantage of having a secure system. Also, at about 45 mph the bars issue a loud whistling sound. I don't recommend this product.

Yakima Bow/Stern Tie Down Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased these tie-down straps with a full rack and canoe kit. The tiedows were very pricey, but they claimed they cam with a protective tube over the ropes to prevent paint scratches.
Let me save you some trouble- Don't bother with these. Get some normal tie-down straps or even some good rope, and wrap them in a towel or cloth. The plastic rope covers scratched the paint on my car very badly, and didn't really offer any other benefit.
The one good feature about these straps is the ratcheting system- When you pull the rope tighter, a ratchet locks it into place until the ratchet lever is pulled. This isn't to say it replaces a good cargo strap, since the rope does tend to come loose, but with some good knot tying, you can get it pretty solid.
Overall, the product quality is as expected, but in the end it was a waste.
I rate things as follows:
1 star - Far below expectations / Completely unsatisfactory
2 star - Below expectations / Unsatisfactory
3 star - Met expectations / Satisfactory
4 star - Exceeded expectations / Very satisfactory
5 star - Far exceeded expectations / Beyond satisfactory

Thule KIT 4001 Podium Intracker Kit Review

(More customer reviews)These fit our 2007 Kia Rondo as expected, however, the cheap plastic locking pin doesn't do a very good job of keeping the plastic cover on each of these. I've still only been able to (barely) get 3 out of 4 of them on. I read another review elsewhere that recommended the locking pin as a better alternative, so I'm going to try those. I don't suspect it will add any real security because you can pop the plastic covers off easily with just a screwdriver, but hopefully it will hold them in place a bit better.
