These Rocky Mounts are AWESOME. Although, I felt let down when I discovered that they weren't keyed alike...especially since I specifically requested that they be keyed alike before purchasing them. (Not Rocky Mounts Fault).
Anyways, these mounts work perfectly in the back of my pickup. They are very solid and the locking mechanism is very secure. I would recommend them to anyone!

Delta Bike Hitch Pro 2 Locking Fork Mount with Lock Review

(More customer reviews)The locking mechanism gives you some protection from the casual grab-and-dash thief. The exposed cam is huge and allows for loads of travel. Once you have adjusted the acorn nut you never have to touch it again. Be careful though - make sure the curved plastic washer properly engages the cam. They can be a bit hard to open, but at least I know they're secure. I bought two of these for a home made truck rack I built. I'm thinking of buying a third to add to my rack. The locks are on the cheap side and they all use the same keys, but again its good for the grab-and-dash thief.Great product!!!

Yakima BedHead Truck Rack Locking Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased two of these BedHead truck bike racks (one locking Yakima BedHead Truck Rack Locking and one non-locking Yakima BedHead Bike Rack) and they work great! I went with these because I wanted something that would allow me to leave my tonneau cover on as well. These have a very small footprint so I can install them or take them off as needed and since they mount to the side of my truck bed I was able to install two of them towards the rear of my truckbed and have the front of my truck bed still covered by my tonneau cover. This allows us to pack luggage and camping supplies under the tonneau out of the elements yet have the bikes in the back as well. It seems to secure them down well as long as make sure the skewer is tight. I first purchased the Bedhead without the locking skewer; 1) Because it was cheaper. 2) Because I did not think I would have our bikes in the truck unattended. If for some reason I thought I needed to leave them I would lock them together with a bike cable to the truck bed itself. Well after seeing how they install with a hex bolt and an allen wrench I never thought about the BedHead rack itself and someone ganking it while I am out riding. You can only get to the bolt that installs/removes it by taking the skewer completely out. That said I ordered my second BedHead with the locking skewer and have a piece of mind that when out riding my BedHead rack "should" be there when I get back. I now have to pay an extra ~$30 to get a locking skewer for my other BeadHead Yakima Universal Locking Skewer. Lesson learned, spend the little extra and get the locking Yakima BedHead Truck Rack.
One more nice plus about these is they are very small and since I live in the Mid-West we get snow half the year (which equals no biking) and storing a large trunk-mount or receiver-mount bike rack takes up space in the attic or garage. You will have no problem storing these little guys in a drawer.

Delta Bike Hitch Locking Fork Mount Review

(More customer reviews)I bough two of these new Delta fork mounts for my wife's Xterra (I built my own interior rack using an L-shaped piece of sheet-metal, and attached these mounts).
Pros: In the previous Delta fork mount, getting the arm lined up for the locking position took several tries, but now the new design just goes right into place.
Cons: Once the lever arm is closed, you really have to work your fingers or possibly a tool into the gap to open it. In the end, this is for the best as you don't want this thing opening up without some force.
Summary: Use these to make your own bike rack using 2X6 planks in the back of your truck, or go to the hardware store and get creative with your SUV.....

Be careful though - make sure the curved plastic washer properly engages the cam. In practice this is easy to do and prevents poor clamping.

Thule Low Rider Bike Mount Review

(More customer reviews)We have a Honda CRV and needed a way to transport bikes. Since the spare tire is mounted on the back of the vehicle it is harder to find a bike rack for it. We don't have a hitch, so it would be very costly to get one installed and then pay for a rack. We bought two sets of the fork mounts and installed them on a 2X6 piece of scrap wood (51 cents at Home Depot) which fits perfectly inside the back of the CRV. Problem solved for not much fuss or money!
