It came in a few days but i was shocked when i saw that it came with no packaging at all. It was just the hitch with the bag of bolts and washers taped onto it. Lucky it didn't get bent during delivery. The install took a few hours because i couldnt figure out how to take off the hangers for the mufflers. After that it took some time to fishwire the bolts and spacers through the holes. After bout 3 hours the hitch and muffler was installed. Im happy with the look it gave my car.

The item seems to fit just fine and the weld look good. The item was shipped with no packaging or wrap and the parts fell out of the tongue area where they were taped into. So at this point I have to spend and hour returning it, plus the cost, or spend and hour at home depot to going to get bolts. The product seems great, I'm just a little disappointed the item is chipped which can rust faster and that all other parts are missing. I did receive a $30 discount to have the paint touched up from Amazon. When I called the company Curt told me to verify that the item was not damaged by checking it under the vehicle. She said often when it's been tossed around enough that the bolts have fallen out then the item is damaged enough to not fit even if it look ok to your eye. This shows me that there is a pattern to their shipping issues. They wouldn't just send me a bolt kit but referred me to any local company that would sell Curt hitches and I could get the kit if that company would take it off of one of their hitches; why would they do that it would make their $300 hitch worthless and I'm sure it would cost over $50 for $5 in bolts? My other choice is to ship it back and wait weeks again to possibly be back in the same spot, but with a hitch that is actually bent beyond being useful as the rep mentioned. I got the run around from the company and told them that I was going to post a review about everything and they were still not willing to help me. Amazon has been helpful so far as usual. It's amateur hour at Curt Manufacturing, just shrink wrap some cardboard to your hitches and send out spare parts rather than get bad reviews. I Would not recommend to a friend

I ordered on a Saturday and received the following Wednesday. Very high quality product with a glossy black paint finish. The bolts and nuts were also a very good grade. Instructions were very clear and easy to understand. It took me approximately 15 minutes to install of which five minutes were spent looking to a 3/4" deep well socket. Might be a good idea to have someone help you lift it into place. I had my 16 year old son hold it up while I stated the bolts. I highly recommend this product! Very happy with my new hitch :).

I installed one of these on a 2006 Miata. It took about 4.5 hours to install, and I took my time and was very methodical. The instructions are good and anyone who is comfortable working on a car will have no problem with the install.
The one caveat, which appears to be very common, is that this hitch causes a loud vibration noise under braking and at idle while stopped.
The fix is very simple. Simply put a hose clamp over each rear muffler hanger and tighten enough to keep the clamp on. That stops the noise cold.

This works for my purposes. It's a bit loose in the hitch receiver and I can't fold it up without it resting or on the back of my SUV tailgate.

I received this hitch in just two days and although the box was in pretty bad shape when It was dropped off, there was no damage. I got all the tools I needed including something to prop it up during installation and it only took me about 15 minutes including torquing the bolts. This is definitely the best fitting hitch I have installed and it is my fourth one. The fit and finish was perfect. Without their little fish wire this could have been considerably longer than the 20 minutes stated. I would definitely purchase another hitch from CURT MFG.

You could imagine my surprise when I ordered this on a Thursday evening and it arrived at my door on Saturday morning, all with free shipping! The install went very smoothly and I was shocked at the quality and fitment. For some reason my Jeep didn't have a shield around the gas tank, so the weld nuts in the frame were full of rust. I ran an M12 x 1.75 tap through them to make life much easier.
Please note: You will have to have a friend pry on the exhaust pipe if you want to use all 6 bolts and the first picture here on Amazon is the mount you will be receiving.
Enjoy,
Justin L.

I bought the extend a truck for my Toyota Tacoma pickup so that I could carry my canoe without having to put it on my roof. The instructions were fairly clear and there were no problems putting it on. I probably spent an hour total installing it. It works perfectly. Now I can get my canoe to where I want to go by myself if I have to, which is what I was hoping to be able to do. Good product.

Very solid and clean build. It fit so perfectly on my 2011 equinox that I didn't have to bang it in with a hammer or support it while I put in the bolts. Installation is very simple and straight forward. Six bolts and your done. The two bolts at the bumper did take a bit of time because of the loops faor the safety chains blocked me from simply using a ratchet wrench with an extension, but once I figured out to just slip my arm between the bumper and the hitch, it went by quickly.

First of all the hitch showed up the day they said it would, very fast even with free shipping. This hitch was the best deal I saw online, and I found it from someone else's recommendation. Fits perfect, and talk about beefy! Twice as heavy as the old hitch I removed, and the 6 mounting points were more spread out and better in my opinion. Install took 1/2 tops by myself. Highly recommend to anyone, great product at a great price.

Overall it appeared to be well made and quality manufacturing, however it didn't fit my Xterra correctly, was the correct part #, but was about 1/4" wider than the bumper piece it is suppose to bolt too. With the amount of steel and reinforcement frame rails have there was nothing I could do. Called Curt MFG and they stated it was within specifications and essentially I was out of luck. Purchased a used OEM Nissan hitch online the next week and fits perfectly.

This was easy to install, and is exactly as expected. Minor inconvenience of needing to remove the the spare for installation, but the hitch doesn't interfere with the spare once installed. Fortunately, I own the necessary tools for install. The only tool some people may not have is a torque wrench.

Curt Manufacturing 13506 Class III Receiver Review

I bought this hitch for my 2001 Tribute DX 4-cylinder. I have been ogling a hitch like this for over a year, but they were always too expensive, well over $200 - until this one, with free shipping and no taxes to boot. Quite a deal! Very solid, heavy duty construction, protected with thick, hard powder coating. It is far more heavy duty than my vehicle is rated for, so it won't be the hitch that ever fails.
Installation was very easy, and can be done by one person, although two persons would make it a little easier. I did it by myself, and I am a few days short of 70 as I write.
Time for a mechanic, with a little experience and all the right tools at his fingertips, is probably 30 minutes, or even less. I took a lot longer, maybe 1-1/2 hours -- mostly because I had to get up and down so often to see what I wanted to do, and to get another tool than the one I guessed at, and also it takes me a lot longer and more effort just to get up once I get down on the creeper.
I'll relate my steps, because the instructions are a little brief.
1. The first thing I did was to do is raise the back end of my Tribute about 6 inches or so. I did that by backing onto two 2"x6" boards, and then the edge of the garage floor has another 1-1/2" lip above the driveway apron. That gave me plenty of room to maneuver on my creeper under the vehicle, and I could lay the hitch across my chest for dry-fit and for installing it.
2. The next thing I did was to slide under the vehicle to determine if I had weld nuts (I didn't), whether I had to do any drilling (I did not), if I had a heat shield (I did), and exactly where the holes were to fasten the hitch.
3. I didn't do this, but if you have a heat shield, before you take it off, dry-fit the hitch against the heat shield, and outline the cutout you'll have to make on the heat shield with a black marking pen, so you'll know what to cut on the heat shield once you remove it, in order to reinstall it later. There are four 10mm bolts or nuts that hold the heat shield on, but after you make your cutout, there will be only three.
3. I didn't have any weld nuts, so my next step after removing the heat shield was to install carriage bolts with a square-hole spacer (three on each side.) This was surprisingly easy to do with the included fish wire. The fish wire has a coiled end for threading the wire onto a bolt. Only screw on the fish wire for a two threads, as it is very hard to get off, especially if you thread it all the way on (as I did). The bolt will not fall off the fish wire. I did not have to drill any holes, nor did I have to enlarge any to get the carriage bolts and spacers in.
4. The next step is to carefully lift the hitch into place and thread on the nuts. Be careful not to shove any of the bolts back up into the frame (as I did) or you'll have a devil of a time fishing them out. If you are doing this by yourself, it might be a good idea to tie a string on each bolt (or shove on a length of tubing) to prevent them from getting pushed back into the hole, until you have both sides on at least one bolt.
